Winkelcentrum Mooierstraat opened its doors in 2000 as a shopping center with a strong focus towards children related products and services for children in the age group 0-12. The shopping center area provided entertainment for the children while the parents were shopping. Since 2007 the theme ‘children’ was abandoned slightly as other types of retail showed interest in the area as well. Currently Drakennest can be best characterized as a family shopping center.

Winkelcentrum Mooierstraat is located on an A2/B location in the heart of Amersfoort, a medium sized city with approximately 150.000 inhabitants. The design of the shopping center provides optimal flexibility for creating all possible shop size, ranging from 50 sqm. to 400 sqm. The project consist out of a total rentable area of 1.700 sqm and it currently (March 2010) has an occupancy rate of 72%
One of the challengers for this project is to improve the signing and therewith attract more traffic.

Care
TCN SIG Real Estate bought this project in 2007 and as of August 2009 the TCN head office in Utrecht is managing this project. Beside the shopping center, the project also owns17 covered parking places which are full let.
