In 2006 TCN bought company SIG from the city of Groningen.
SIG (1947) was originally the foundation of the Groningen municipality to stimulate the industry in and around Groningen. As the government in the Netherlands decided to reduce the commercial activities, the municipality was forced to sell the SIG portfolio to a commercial company.
SIG had a very diverse portfolio, varying from offices and glass fiber participations to social dividend projects; typically something for TCN. SIG still is a strong brand name in the region, We renamed the company to TCN SIG and restructured it, sold what did not fit in the TCN philosophy and kept or even expanded some products like redevelopments of business parks and TCN Data Hotels. TCN SIG has the same focus as TCN The Netherlands which is redevelopment of existing real estate and forgotten urban area’s. Core projects of TCN SIG are her data centers, the Mediacentrale and the redevelopment of office park O-four
